Square is digging into its treasure chest of famous Final Fantasy characters to help diversify the roster for those who might be otherwise put off by a Disney-themed game. Some of the cast members are new characters, but there are a fair share of fan favorites that have been brought back—in some cases from the dead. Final Fantasy X is represented by Wakka, 15-years of age and ever ready to play the big brother to anyone in sight; and Tidus who at 13-years of age is still an airhead, but is there to challenge Sora to duels to help the youth sharpen his fighting skills. Final Fantasy VIII’s Selphie, age 13, and Squall—now an actual adult at age 25—make an appearance as well. Final Fantasy VII is represented by Yuffie, age 16, a female ninja working with Squall. There have been published reports that Aeris may be in the game, but we can’t confirm that here. Aeris fans will just have to hold out hope for a return of a long dead character. Rounding out the list of characters we actually know about are the Final Fantasy standbys like the Moogle and Cid who both work in an accessory shop that Cid owns.
