The
bottomline is that Kingdom Hearts is
destined to be one of the most memorable releases in history. And it's not just
because of the reasons that were brought up in the previous pages of this
preview, but also because of the sheer appeal that this title holds. It is
certain to hit all the major demographics—the young will be attracted to the
Disney characters if Disney has anything to say about it and older gamers
because of the Final Fantasy
characters and the Square name. There is no doubt that this game will be a
great success, the only question that remains is when it will or if it will
ever be released on consoles other than the PlayStation 2. There is no mention
of Kingdom Hearts being a PlayStation 2 exclusive so who knows? Maybe a
move other consoles will mean the inclusion of the exclusive properties of that
console. Perhaps, a move to the GameCube might mean the appearance of some
beloved Nintendo mascots. We might see the Master Chief and Abe in the game if
it were to appear on the Xbox. These are nice ideas to bounce around, but
nothing has been announced or even hinted at this point. At any case, the
PlayStation 2 version is a done deal and we can hardly wait.
